Ice users will pay more for ice time at the Tantramar civic centre in 2010.
Effective Jan. 1, ice rental rates will increase an average of five per cent. Non prime time rental rates (before 4 p.m. on weekdays) will go from $75 to $80; prime time rates (after 4 p.m. and weekends) will increase from $132.50 to $140; and the daily tournament rate will go from $950 to $1,000. Todd Cole, the town's acting director of parks and recreation, said this increase has been "well communicated with ice users well in advance," and they are aware of the changes. This increase is the first one since the town took over operations of the civic centre in 2007.
