FREDERICTON, N.B. – Visual artists in the province are being invited by the New Brunswick Art Bank to make submissions to the 2013-14 Acquisitions Program.
The art bank, established in 1968, is a permanent collection of more than 700 works of art, serving as a record of excellence in New Brunswick's visual arts. Every two years a jury selects artwork by contemporary artists to be purchased.
“The art bank is an example of New Brunswick's vibrant creative economy and the cultural fabric that shapes our everyday lives,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Trevor Holder. “We can all take pride in our growing collection of remarkable art. I encourage all our visual artists to make submissions and become a part of the province's great artistic landscape.”
The deadline for applications is Nov. 15. The jury will review the applications and announce the new acquisitions in the spring of 2014. The acquisitions may be exhibited in a province-wide exhibition and presented in digital formats.
Application forms and more information on the Art Bank Acquisition Program are available online.
