Each January, Crime Stoppers programs around the world celebrate Crime Stoppers Month to highlight their successes and promote one of the largest crime solving and crime fighting programs in the world.
N.B. Crime Stoppers Inc. president Ron Godin says the program's success in this province is due in large part to the many volunteers, organizations, sponsors, businesses, media and law enforcement agencies that contribute to its operation.
"Because of you, there are fewer criminals in our midst and fewer crimes being committed in our communities, which help people feel safer. Crime Stoppers is proof that everyday citizens have a vital role to play in combating and preventing crime," says Godin.
Since its inception in 1985, N.B. Crime Stoppers Inc. has helped solve nearly 7,800 cases. In addition, tips to Crime Stoppers have resulted in more than 8,400 people being arrested, $7.7 million in property recovered, and an estimated street value of nearly $64 million worth of drugs being seized.
If you have information on any unsolved crime, and wish to remain anonymous and qualify for a cash award of up to $2,000.00, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or submit your information online at www.crimenb.ca. You can also provide information by texting 'TIP212' plus your message to CRIMES (274637), or by downloading the free TipSubmit mobile app on your Android or iPhone.
