In partnership with Leadership Mount Allison and the Sackville Food Group, Marshview Middle School will soon begin an after-school program for its students.
A $1,000 cheque was presented by MLA, Mike Olscamp on Tuesday, Jan. 15 to the school on behalf of the New Brunswick Department of Culture, Tourism, and Healthy Living. All middle-school students are welcome to apply. However, enrolment is limited.
Leadership Mount Allison students will lead Marshview students in recreational physical activities and a choice of cooking, music or free play. A healthy snack and homework time will also be included.
The program will be held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3-5:30 p.m. at a cost of $2 per day. For those who would like to attend, but the cost would exclude them, please contact the school office. The program will begin on Monday, Jan. 28 and will run until the end of March.
Students who are accepted for enrolment are expected to attend each day of the program and to participate in all activities.
If you have questions about the program, please contact Mora MacDonald, school counsellor, at 364-4094. If you or your child is interested in attending, please contact the school office at 364-4086 for an application form.
