Grab your oars and anything that floats and come on down to enjoy this family-fun Sackville Fall Fair activity - the “Anything that Floats Race” on Silver Lake.
The event takes place Sunday, September 22 from 2- 3 p.m.
That’s right, it’s anything that floats.
Homemade vessels made of materials you might find around the house or garage: cardboard, wood, PVC, duct tape, milk jugs, five-gallon buckets, Saran Wrap, old T-shirts, outdoor furniture, pool noodles, old bikes.
Just no motors, inflatable rafts, polystyrene foam, or pool toys are allowed.
Teams of two to four people (ages 12 and up) with a minimum of one adult per team are invited to compete for prizes in the following categories: Fastest Vessel, Most Creative Design, and Best Use of Fall Fair Theme – Time Marches On!.
Local residents can enter a homemade vessel, join the regatta on Silver Lake, or cheer on your favourite team from land as the contestants navigate the course at the beach at Lillas Fawcett Park.
