SACKVILLE, N.B. – It’s December and that can only mean one thing in Sackville – it’s time once again for Live Bait Theatre’s annual Christmas dinner theatre.

Once again featuring a group of talented performers ready to get you in the holiday spirit, this year’s show will serve up some laughs, lots of music and a delicious home-cooked style meal, with all the trimmings.

Entitled The Naughty List, this year’s show was written by Tom Hearn, who has been with Live Bait Theatre for four years and helped Charlie Rhindress write the script for last year’s show, CSI: Christmas Scene Investigation.

“It centers around a group of four people who have been brought to the North Pole because they’re on the naughty list,” said Hearn. “So the story is about them finding out why and trying to find a way to get back on the nice list.”

Hearn himself plays one of the “naughty” characters David, while Cat McCluskey plays Blanche, Jennie Del Motte is in the role of Ethel, and Colin Frotten plays Eric.

Hearn said these four have been placed on the naughty list not so much because of one particular thing they did but more because of how they are personally in their lives.

“It’s how they treat others . . . not realizing what Christmas is about. They’re more worried about themselves than the greater good.”

The show, which will be Live Bait Theatre’s 20th annual Christmas dinner theatre, also features an elf, played by Zack Kennedy, who is trying to get himself a promotion in the North Pole.

The Naughty List, which features eight shows in total, opens tonight Dec. 4 and runs from Wednesday through Saturday for two weeks at the Sackville Legion.

“Tickets are selling very quickly,” said Hearn.

Del Motte, who has been with Live Bait for 12 years and is musical director for the show, said this year’s dinner theatre promises to entertain on the music side of things with a mix of holiday favourites and modern songs as well.

“There’s a lot of music in the show,” she said. “There’ll be something for everyone . . . there’s everything from Elvis to Miley Cyrus.”

Del Motte said the performers have diverse musical talents and can play a variety of instruments, bringing some “fantastic harmonies” to this year’s show.
