SACKVILLE, N.B. – Come and beat the winter chills and support the Sackville Music Festival by attending a special fundraising concert called Home Sweet Home: Salon Music of Yesteryear. Several talented Sackville musicians will invite you into their “salon,” which is the stage of Brunton Auditorium, to enjoy their musical selections. The concert will take place on Sunday, Jan. 12, beginning at 3 p.m. Admission is by donation with proceeds going to support the Sackville Music Festival.

Among the many performers who will contribute their talents are Janet Hammock, Karin Aurell, Lynn Johnson, Helen Pridmore, Melody Dobson, Laura Snyder, Linda Pearse, Colleen Renihan, Danise Ferguson, Peter Higham, Gary Tucker, Branden Olsen, Max Keenlyside and Aude Urbancic.

The Sackville Music Festival, which is celebrating its 60th year, is an opportunity for community members/music students, young and old, to exercise their talents. The festival allows these music and speech students to perform for each other and the public, to get feedback from professional adjudicators on their performances, and to develop their love of music.

The 2014 Sackville Music Festival will be held on April 28-May 3 in the Music Conservatory of Mount Allison University.

The deadline for registration for the festival is Jan. 31. The syllabus and entry forms as well as information about the adjudicators are available at www.sackvillemusicfestivalcom or by calling 536-0986 for details.
