Dive In is the theme of this year’s Summer Reading Club. The club is open to all young readers – there is also a group for those not yet reading on their own. Registration is free and can be done any time at the Sackville Public Library.

This year we have created the Jakej Water Park for our wall chart to keep track of books read by our members.  Wondering who Jakej is?– well you will just have to drop by the Library to find out!  All together we hope to read 1600 books by the end of the summer and help our Pirate Boat make it across the rough seas to find the hidden treasure.

In addition to the on-going Reading Club, the Library is also offering daily Tidal Waves of Adventures for various ages. Drop by the Library to pick up a schedule of programs or check us out on Facebook. Morning programs are aimed for those 3-7 while the afternoon activities are for ages 4-12. Programs include A Drop-In Play Time for Tots, a Sleepover, a Teddy Bear Picnic, Arts and Crafts, Local Field Trips including a visit to Fort Folly, and much much more.

We also will be running an IMovie Club throughout the summer for those aged 8-15, where members will help the summer staff create fun and informative short movies using the Library’s Ipad. Once completed and approved these movies will be featured at a Gala Premier Party and will be posted to the Library’s YouTube Channel.  For more info or to join this Club please drop by the Library. Space is limited.

Another program we will be offering throughout the summer is a Drop-In Wii Tournament for ages 8-15. Each week we will choose a Wii tournament – such as Archery or Frisbee or Waveboarding, etc. Members can schedule a time to drop in each week and play a game and try to post the highest score for the week.  A winner will be announced each week and at the end of the summer we will be holding a Final Tournamant for all our weekly high scores.  The Tournament begins this week so make sure you are registered to have a shot at posting the highest score. Drop in and see if you can beat our summer staff!

For more specific info on our weekly schedule, check us out on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/sackvillepubliclibrary , or drop by or call the library at 364-4915.
