At just over a week old, Victoria Kathleen Alexander has already celebrated a lot of firsts in her young life.
She is the first child for Stephanie and Stephaun Alexander of Sackville, the first grandchild for Stephanie's parents Barry and Audrey Elson, also of Sackville, and the first niece for Stephanie's younger brothers and sisters.
And that's not all - little Victoria was born on January 1st at the Moncton Hospital, making her the first baby of the New Year born in the region.
Stephanie, who said doctors told her she was due on Jan. 1, didn't actually expect to have the first New Year's baby in the area.
"I knew I was due on the first . . . but I didn't know she would be the first one born," she said.

Victoria came into the world at 12:04 p.m., several hours after Stephanie, 21, and Stephaun, 29, arrived at the Moncton Hospital.
"It was exciting," said Stephanie on Monday from her home in Sackville. "I would have been just as excited if it was any time but it was a little extra bonus."
Stephanie and Stephaun, both originally from Ontario, have been married for over a year and moved to Sackville last summer to be closer to her parents when she had the baby.
"We just want to take as good as care of her as we can," said Stephanie of her new bundle of joy.
At eight pounds, five ounces and just over 19 inches long, Victoria is already "very spoiled," said the proud mom.
"She's the first grandchild so my parents are really happy about that. My brothers and sisters are all brand new aunts and uncles so they love to watch her."
