A local resident has proposed that Sackville town council consider the idea of establishing a committee that would make suggestions on how to improve and promote the towns website.

Meredith Fisher said she thinks a committee, which would be comprised of people of all ages, would be able to make recommendations to the town on what to include and how to attract more traffic to the site.

I just think the website is so importantits such a critical marketing tool for the committee, she said.

The town of Sackvilles website is currently being updated by local web-based design firm Tantramar Interactive.

Cary Murray, director of community economic development and tourism, said Tantramar Interactive has so far gone beyond what the town requested in its tender call earlier this spring and is customizing programs specifically for the town.

This will allow easy updates to the site by the staff and this will result in a much better program for the municipality, said Murray. We consider this value-added service and we thank them for that.

Murray explained the reformatting of the website will include an updated look.

Fisher stressed, however, that a committee could bring new ideas to the table and make suggestions that might not have been considered.

Its the face of Sackville to the world, she added, and its just so important that it have an impact.
