Nearly a hundred cheerful and energized members of the Tantramar Seniors' College, decked out in finery and celebratory hats of all sizes and shapes, gathered for The Mad Hatters' Tea Party on Saturday, Nov. 28 to celebrate the college's second year.
St. Ann's Anglican Church Hall in British Settlement provided a fitting space for the celebration as members from Amherst, Moncton and Sackville came together in what could well become a regular event, if the excitement of the afternoon was an indicator.
The Tantramar Seniors' College is partway through its second fall term of operation and members are pleased by the growing richness of the experience.
The variety of courses and learning opportunities is expanding but, in addition, people are enjoying a feeling of community as seniors from the area build new relationships.
People who have known each other for years are discovering new ways to connect and build on their friendships.
For many, Tantramar Seniors' College is becoming more than merely attending a course. Each member, in addition to the wonderful volunteer instructors, contributes to the experience.
Plans for courses in the winter term are now being finalized. Check the website for course details at www.tantramarseniorscollege.ca. Registration for winter courses will take place on Monday, Jan. 11 in Sackville at the Anglican Church from 4-5:30 p.m. Classes will start on Jan. 18.
