The grad class of 2009 wants to try something different.
Every year, the graduating class of Tantramar Regional High School holds many fundraisers to gather the money they need to hold their grad activities. They hold bake sales, sell peeler cards, have midnight movies, organize fairs, race dragonboats, bag groceries, and do a dozen other things. This year, they're going to stage a murder in the cafeteria.

No need to call the cops. The murder in the cafeteria is going to be a dinner theatre murder mystery called Spice of Life. Written and directed by TRHS teacher and improv coach Angela Ranson, it is the story of a new reality-TV variety show, which is holding its first level of auditions. Eight contestants are vying to be one of the top four talented young people who will be chosen to continue to the next episode. They are being judged by three celebrity judges and hosted by two celebrity hosts. As the story unfolds, past relationships, mysterious secrets, and hidden talents all arise and complicate this simple plan. By the finale, there are two less people in the cast, and it looks like no one will be able to advance to the next level.
In the end, the audience gets a chance to guess who the murderer is (or who the murderers are). Correct guesses will be entered into a draw for a chance to win great Titan prizes. The audience will also be treated to a spaghetti dinner complete with rolls and dessert. A cash bar will provide 'mocktails' (specialty non-alcoholic cocktail drinks), and all proceeds will go to the new Teens Against Drunk Driving group at TRHS.
Spice of Life will take place on Thursday, Nov. 27.
