A 53-year-old Sackville man is facing charges of production and possession of marijuana following a drug raid at his residence on Stephens Drive on July 30.
Alan Weldon, who was arrested at the scene and was remanded into custody until his court appearance the following day, has since been released and will again appear in court next month to enter a plea on the charges.
A woman who was also arrested in connection with the incident was released that same day but is due to appear in court at a later date on similar charges.
Cpl. Marco Papillon of the Sackville RCMP detachment said officers seized an undisclosed amount of marijuana and other drug paraphanelia from the home at 27 Stephens Drive following an afternoon search of the residence. The two adults were subsequently arrested and the investigation is continuing, he said.
Papillon said RCMP had requested a search warrant for the residence based on information police had received on the case. He said several officers and a police dog searched the property and found a number of marijuana plants in various stages of development.
"There was production going on there," he said.
