RCMP conclude investigation into fatal summer boating accident

RCMP have concluded their investigation into a July boating accident in Sackville that killed a popular Amherst high school teacher.

Cpl. Jean Gosselin of District 4 RCMP said Thursday that he has completed his investigation and the file is now in the hands of the chief prosecutor for a decision on whether to proceed with charges.

Gosselin added the file was turned over to the prosecutor's office last week and he's hoping to have a reply by next week at the earliest.

Susan Taylor suffered severe head and chest injuries in a mid-July boating collision on Silver Lake near Sackville. She died in hospital in Halifax in September.

RCMP called in Transport Canada to help with the investigation.
