FREDERICTON, N.B. – New board members of the New Brunswick Health Council were announced today by Health Minister Hugh Flemming.
“I thank the previous members of the health council for their service,” said Flemming. “The council does an excellent job of fostering transparency, public engagement and accountability in our health system and I am sure the new members will build upon the work previously accomplished in an effort to support a stronger, more sustainable health-care system in the province.”
The board of directors includes 16 members:
● Jean-Claude Pelletier, chair, Saint-Léonard;
● Laurie Boucher, Bouctouche;
● Jeffrey Beairsto, Fredericton;
● Randy Dickinson, Fredericton;
● Harry Doyle, Coverdale;
● Sharon Eagan, Perth-Andover;
● Floyd Haley, St. Stephen;
● Cindy Howe, Burton;
● Dr. Shawn Jennings, Rothesay;
● Barbara Losier, Landry Office;
● Julie Robichaud, Dieppe;
● Georges R. Savoie, Neguac;
● Wayne Spires, Moores Mills;
● Roy Therrien, Saint-Basile;
● Frank B. Trevors, Miramichi; and
● Christopher Waldschutz, Saint John
The council was established as an independent organization that measures, monitors and evaluates the performance of New Brunswick's health-care system and the health of the population, and engages New Brunswickers in improving the quality of health service.
