Volunteers needed for hospital palliative care program

MONCTON, N.B. – Horizon Health Network is hosting one-day training workshops in New Brunswick for people who would like to volunteer in palliative care. The workshops will be held on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013.

Hospital palliative care volunteers provide support to patients and their families during their time of need. The palliative care volunteer training will include an introduction to palliative care, education on death, dying and grief and the development of communication and support skills.

Workshops will be held in the Miramichi, Moncton, Saint John, Fredericton and Upper River Valley areas.

To register for training or to learn more about the Palliative Care Program, please contact 506-857-5433.

Registration is required for the training workshop by Feb. 15, 2013.
