On March 5, 2013, Codiac RCMP received a complaint of alleged cruelty to a dog in Riverview. An investigation was immediately launched with police conducting interviews and looking at the injuries to the dog.

Although the dog did suffer broken bones and abrasions, the police have not been able to uncover any evidence that anyone deliberately caused those injuries. There is some indication that the dog may have wandered outside of the home through an unsecured door and possibly been struck by a vehicle.

The investigation is now concluded and no charges will be laid.
