FREDERICTON, N.B. – Efficiency NB is offering a two-day workshop in Moncton beginning March 20 for experienced users of CanQUEST/eQUEST. CanQUEST is a free software application that aids in building energy design, analysis, and checking energy code compliance in Canada.
“Energy modelling software enables building owners to analyze design choices and identify elements that have the biggest impact on their design,” said Efficiency NB president and chief executive officer Margaret-Ann Blaney. “Modelling makes energy efficiency targets achievable at the outset of designing a building and CanQUEST elps illustrate how to attain building performance targets within budget.”
Through the simulation software, design professionals complete a whole-building analysis in order to evaluate and maximize building design and performance gains in a facility, and confirm whether a project is viable.
The workshop, for architects, engineers and other design professionals, will help participants expand their knowledge in energy modelling and the energy performance of buildings, as well as develop a better understanding and skill set for using the simulation tools.
Participants must have prior experience with eQUEST and must bring their own laptop with both the latest version of CanQUEST (currently 1.5) and eQUEST installed. For details and to register, visit the Efficiency NB website and search Workshops or call at 1-866-643-8833, extension 130.
