The Moncton Miracles beat the Montreal Jazz 99-83 in their home opener.
The Miracles came out strong in their first regular season game and had a quick 22-12 lead over the Jazz in the first quarter. Montreal battled their way back and by the time the buzzer went they had shortened the spread to 24-21 in favour of Moncton.
The next two quarters continued to be close until the Miracles took control in the fourth. They outscored Montreal 31-21 to help them finish the game with a strong lead.
Tyrone Levett led the way for the Miracles with 28 points. Devin Sweetney followed with 20 points.
Manix Auriantal was the top scorer for the Jazz with 17 points. Sani Ibrahim was right behind him with 15 points and 9 rebounds.
The Miracles face the Quebec Kebs on Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Moncton Coliseum.
The Miracles are part of the National Basketball League of Canada.
