Local landowners living along the shore are invited to an upcoming workshop that will provide them with an opportunity to discuss the impacts of climate change and the modern realities and risks associated with coastal development. The workshop, scheduled for Saturday, April 10, at 9 a.m. at Port Elgin Regional School, is being hosted by the Tantramar Planning District Commission (TPDC).

“The purpose of the workshop is to talk about coastal storm impacts and share information on climate change,” said Tracey Wade, a planner with TPDC.

Wade said there is so much information available today on the Internet as it relates to climate change and the effects on coastal communities, the planning commission thought it best to bring in several key experts on issues of significance for landowners around the Gaspereaux River, Baie Verte, and the Northumberland Strait areas.
