Town hall staff has been busy over the past month putting together the capital budget for 2013.

Michael Beal, Sackville’s treasurer and acting CAO, said discussions with department heads have been under way for several weeks now, with talks centering around what the top priorities should be for capital spending this year.

“There are a number of capital projects that the town must look at carefully as we set our program for 2013 and beyond,” said Beal.

He said the department heads each submitted their priority lists to finance staff, which were then forwarded for review with council in late January.

The proposed budget is expected to come forward at February’s council meeting. A public meeting for the capital budget will be held tonight (Feb. 6) at 7 p.m. in town council chambers.
