Sackville RCMP are investigating an armed robbery that took place this afternoon at Jean Coutu. One man is in custody in relation to the robbery while three others are being held as suspected accomplices.

The vehicle driven by the suspects was reported by RCMP to have Prince Edward Island license plates.

Several eyewitnesses say two Jean Coutu employees gave chase to the suspect on foot through the downtown area.

Shortly after the robbery, police blocked off Milner Lane to search for the individual(s) and brought in a search dog to help with the investigation.

No further information is available at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

In our little town of Sackville, good grief, people are desperate, tell them to come to Saskatchewan, there is lots of work here, and it is plenty cold, to keep them out of trouble. These people are just too lazy to work, that is why they choose the easy way out, steal from everyone else, so they do not have to get their hands dirty. Well a few years in prison, mighty make them appreciate their freedom a little more. I hope the judge gives them the absolute harshest punishment allowable by law, then adds 20 more years on for an extra lesson.
