Whether it involves helping out at the Main Street Mile, Agricultural Field Day or other venues, there’s always a demand for volunteers at the Sackville Fall Fair.
SACKVILLE, N.B. – With Sackville’s Fall Fair just a week away, organizers are putting the finishing touches on the many activities that will be included in the annual event.
Rebekah Cant, director of community events and programming for the town of Sackville, said Monday that volunteers are the heart of the entire annual fall celebration.
“There just wouldn’t be a fall fair without all of the people who volunteer their time and talents to make it the success it is. So many people, of all ages, contribute to the many events and activities both before and during the fall fair,” she said.
Cant noted that once again this year, event organizers are hoping lots of people will give some of their time to ensure the success of this year’s fair. She encourages people to come out in support of the event, regardless of the amount of time they might have to offer.
“You may not be able to spend an entire day but that’s OK. If you have an hour, or two, or maybe several hours to give, organizers are happy to see you come and lend a hand. There are all kinds of things anyone can do to help before or during events,” she said.
The Agricultural Field Day at the Doncaster Farm, one of the largest fall fair events, has all kinds of duties for people of all ages.
“They need a lot of volunteers to help out during the day so we’re actively recruiting people for that day, and for other events as well, throughout the fair,” she said.
