RCMP seek public assistance in theft of paintings and other valuables

DORCHESTER, N.B. – The RCMP is asking for the public’s help in solving a theft that occurred at a residence on Main Street in Dorchester, N.B., on Oct. 6, 2013.

In total, 12 items were stolen from the residence, including valuable paintings, historic maps and an antique carpet. They are estimated to be worth in excess of $15,000. Police believe that at least three individuals were involved, and that the stolen items were specifically targeted.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity on that day or who has any information that may help identify the individuals responsible for this theft is asked to contact the Sackville RCMP at 506-533-5151 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at www.crimenb.ca or 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
