SACKVILLE, N.B. – Currently there is no local community transportation service in the Tantramar region. A shuttle service could benefit residents in Dorchester, Memramcook, Port Elgin and Sackville, outlying communities and neighborhoods. EOS Eco-Energy, with support from Renaissance Sackville and the Westmoreland-Albert Community Inclusion Network, wants to run a trial shuttle service this winter (2014) to help residents get to Amherst, Moncton and Sackville for medical appointments, groceries and other public services.
Organizers are seeking input from community residents and groups to help design a service that best meets the transportation needs of local communities. Surveys are available at municipal offices and public libraries and must be returned by Jan. 6. Online surveys can be filled out at www.eosecoenergy.com before Jan. 10.
