SACKVILLE, N.B. – Local RCMP are investigating an armed robbery that occurred last night at about 8 p.m. at the Great Canadian Dollar Store on Main Street.

Const. Anthony Gaudet said a lone masked male entered the business brandishing an unidentified weapon.

“He demanded money, which he was allowed to take by the cashier . . . and he fled on foot in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money,” Gaudet said. “The South-East District is investigating, but there’s no suspect at this time.”

The suspect was approximately 5’6”, with an average build, and was wearing a black and  navy blue winter jacket with a hood. The lower part of his face was covered by a dark-coloured scarf or mask.

Gaudet said the cashier did the right thing by allowing the armed robber to take the money.

“Your life is not worth the money in the till. Just let the person have what they want.”

If anyone has any information related to this robbery, they are asked to contact the southeast RCMP at 506-533-5151 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
