New Brunswick side of marsh sees several crashes

Local firefighters, police officers and Department of Transportation workers responded to the scene of an overturned transport truck at about 3 p.m. today. Emergency responders had to deal with fuel leaking from the vehicle.

SACKVILLE, N.B. – RCMP were urging motorists to be careful on the New Brunswick side of the Tantramar Marsh.

Drifting snow and strong winds were creating tough driving conditions.

Several vehicles went off the road on a five-kilometre stretch near the dam and the former CBC transmission towers.

The Sackville Fire Department, and RCMP and Department of Transportation personnel were called to the scene of a tractor trailer is on its side and leaking fuel near the Bridge Street exit on the Trans-Canada Highway about 3 p.m.
