FREDERICTON, N.B. - Applications for enrolment in the New Brunswick Drug Plan are now available.
"The plan will begin providing coverage to members on May 1," said Health Minister Hugh Flemming. "Application forms are now available for anyone wishing to join the plan on a voluntary basis."
The forms may be obtained by calling 1-855-540-7325 or by going online.
Any uninsured New Brunswicker with a valid Medicare card is eligible to enrol in the plan. Some insured residents will also be able to join if they require a specific drug that is not covered under their private plan but is covered under the government drug plan, or if they have reached their annual or lifetime maximum under their current plan.
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will not be denied coverage based on a pre-existing medical condition.
"The plan will give people the peace of mind of having fair and affordable drug insurance when they need it," said Flemming. "I am pleased that our government was able to put this in place for current and future generations."
More information about the drug plan is available online.
