SACKVILLE, N.B. – Sackville motorists are about to become more mindful of the speed they’re driving.

Three new electronic speed signs have been ordered and will arrive this month, said town engineer Dwayne Acton, with the expectation that they will be used to make drivers more aware of the speed they’re travelling and give RCMP a better indication of where the problem areas lie.

The signs are solar powered and portable, said Acton, so they will be able to be moved around at will to various locations. The signs also collect the data that is recorded and that information can be downloaded by town staff or police so they can monitor the situation.

The town approved the funds earlier this year to purchase the new signs.
