Marijuana plants seized in Shemogue

SHEMOGUE, N.B. – District 4 RCMP have seized a quantity of marihuana plants preventing the illegal distribution of more than 20,000 marihuana joints.

At around 5:00 p.m. on October 4, 2012, the District 4 Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a property in Shemogue.  Police found approximately 195 stems from marihuana plants hanging to dry in a shed.

The investigation is continuing and charges are anticipated.

This investigation is part the Marihuana Grow Initiative, the RCMP’s national strategy to combat marihuana grow operations in our communities.
