For the second tournament in a row, the Sackville Mini Titans brought home some hardware. After a gold medal at the Port Elgin Tournament, the Titans came home with silver this past weekend from Riverview.
Consistency and great passing was the road to success as the boys won their opening game against Port Elgin 58-18 before efficiently taking care of East Saint John 58-15.
In the crossovers, the Titans played all heart in defeating Riverview 48-26 setting up a championship game against the Moncton Hawks.
Against the higher-ranked Hawks, the Titans held their own, closing out the first half down by four. Moncton came out hard in the second half and opened up a larger lead that the Titans couldn't close. The boys played really well in a game that more resembled hockey at points with the Hawks bodychecking the Titans all over the floor. The Titans now take a break from tournament play as they gear up for provincials next month.
