In their final tune-up games before provincials, the Sackville Mini Titans travelled to Sussex on Sunday for a doubleheader with KVBA and the hometown Stars.
Against the higher-ranked Sussex team, the boys were in it the entire game eventually losing 52-45. It was a close game with the downfall for Sackville being turnovers.
Lucas Cormier led the Titans with 17 points while Dash Edson, Jason Wilson and Logan Reid added six each. Daniel Gaudreault had three and Cohen Patterson, Bradley Ogden and Seamus Lyon hit for two and Joseph Findlay chipped in one.
The boys took a quick break before playing divisional rivals KVBA B. Cormier had 12 points and Edson eight. Wilson was buzzing all game with six points and five steals. Gaudreault had three points to go along with Patterson and Reid chipping in two points each. Nathan Boudreau was a human vacuum, boxing out and grabbing rebounds. He dominated the boards, stripping KV of second chances.
The boys have a couple weeks of practice before heading to Canterbury for provincials March 23-24.
