The Tantramar Regional High School Men's Hockey Titans participated in the 39th annual Moncton High School Hockey Classic over the weekend and finished in 11th place in their 17-team division.
The Titans picked up a 4-1 win against the Amherst Regional High School Vikings, took a 5-2 loss to the Parkview Panthers, and a 6-3 loss to the Avon View Avalanche. Both the Panthers and the Avalanche play out of the Valley High School Hockey League in Nova Scotia.
The Titans' first game was a rekindling of their cross border rivalry with the ARHS Vikings. Sebastian LeBlanc opened the scoring early in the first period when he redirected a Kyle Lowerison shot. Ethan Crossman notched the lone goal of the second period from Destin Zoellner and Paxton Clare. Drew Arsenault sniped two markers to seal the deal in the third period. Zach Snowdon earned assists on both goals, while Brook Beale also assisted on one. Caleb Silliker picked up the win in net. Player of the game was LeBlanc.
On Friday the Titans faced the Parkview Panthers of Bridgewater, N.S. The Panthers led 4-0 at the end of the first. Tantramar net minder Kyle Cadman held the Panthers scoreless in the second frame. Parkview added one more goal in the third. Ryan Fury and Zoellner answered for the Titans. Snowdon picked up two helpers while Arsenault and Crossman each earned one. Arsenault was named player of the game for the Titans.
The Avon View Avalanche handed the Titans their second loss of the round robin on Friday afternoon. Crossman scored twice and Arsenault added another. Once again Snowdon led the team in assists with two. Crossman was the player of the game for the Titans.
