The Sackville MacDonalds Peewee Macs lost a pair of close games on the road this past weekend.

The first game, the boys traveled across the border to play Cumberland. After a scoreless first period, the Thrashers opened the scoring to take a one-goal lead into the third. Again, the home team scored early and built up a two-goal cushion.

The Macs scored next as Will Lafford bounced on a Dan Jensen rebound to bring the Macs to within one. Cumberland went up by two with less than five minutes to go. Brook Beale notched a goal, assisted by Lafford and Paxton Clare, but Cumberland shut the door and the Macs came home on the short end of a 3-2 score. Wesley Estabrooks took the loss in nets.

Their next game was against Kent Sud, again on the road. Having beaten the Flames earlier in the season, the Macs knew they would be out for revenge.

The Flames proved to be too hot for the Macs and the hometown team squeaked out a hard-fought 3-2 win.

Scoring for Sackville was Lafford and Beale. Kyle Cadman was tagged with the loss.

The next game will be a home tilt Thursday at 5:30 p.m. vs Cumberland.
