The Tantramar area showed its fine sense of community this past weekend by supporting the Hockey Moms Face-Off Against Cancer campaign to the tune of $1,250.

The Sackville Combines generated a donation of $285 through their 50-50 draw during their game against league-leading Richibucto. With a split of $142.50, winner Susan Bowser generously donated the money back to the fund.

On Saturday, the Tantramar Lady Titans not only donated their 50-50 proceeds but also raffled off a fabulous basket just for the Hockey Moms fundraiser. The basket generated $169 and the 50-50 split was $130. For the second time on the weekend, winner Todd Estabrooks gave his winners share back to the campaign. The Titan girls total donation for the evening was an amazing $429.

Later Saturday, the Titan boys hosted the annual alumni game and a good crowd came to support the boys' program. A total of $536 was collected at the door for the 50-50 draw and the eventual winner Debbie Fisher also gave her winnings back to the cancer fundraiser.

Hockey Moms Face-Off Against Cancer co-chairs Gail LeBlanc and Katrin Cammann-Kummer were overwhelmed by the generosity of all who attended the three games and wish to express their gratitude to the Sackville Combines, and both the Titan boys and girls hockey programs for supporting these events.
