The Tantramar Lady Titans earned two important road wins this past Saturday and Sunday as they work to complete the final games of their regular season schedule.
On Saturday in Moncton, the Titans defeated Harrison Trimble Trojans 7-1 at the Red Ball 4-Ice Centre.
The teams were tied after one period at 1-1 but the ladies of Tantramar scored three goals in each of the second and third frames to notch the victory.
Scoring for the Titans were Emily Stubbert and Jenna Wry with two each and Hannah Caron, Nika Shaw and Breanne Lee with singles.
Shanice McDonald replied for Harrison Trimble. Morgan Morrissey took the win in nets for Tantramar while Sherrie Shannon was charged with the loss.
On Sunday in Shediac, the Titans played one of their best games of the year with tight passing, fast-paced skating and strong defence and were rewarded with a 2-0 victory over host L.J. Robichaud Patriotes.
Stubbert scored both Tantramar goals in dramatic fashion - a short-hander in the first and on a breakaway in the second.
Karly Estabrooks earned the shutout for the Titans and Caroline LeBlanc took the loss in the LJR net.
The Titans outshot the Patriotes 22-13 in the game.
The lady Titans will play this week in the Sussex Female Hockey Tournament beginning on Thursday.
Their Eastern Conference playoffs begin the week of Feb. 15.
