“Small and medium-sized businesses play an integral role in our economy and we are committed to helping them succeed,” said Doucet. “Opportunities NB is the first point of contact for small and medium-sized businesses looking to grow or expand. We steer businesses through the growth process with new market and export development, export-readiness training and other specialized services.”

“As we celebrate Small Business Week 2015, we cannot emphasize enough that there are opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses to grow in New Brunswick and beyond,” said Stephen Lund, CEO of Opportunities NB. “Business owners can take advantage of the services Opportunities NB offers to create winning conditions for their business growth.”

There are more than 25,000 small businesses in New Brunswick which employ 160,000 people. There has been a 300 per cent growth in small business exports since 2011.

“This year we are on track to increase priority sector export sales of small and medium-sized enterprises,” said Doucet.  “Small businesses make up the fabric of our economy and are among the most entrepreneurial and hardworking people in our province.”
