Aulac woman, Springhill man facing drug charges after traffic stop

Meth, cocaine seized

The Southeast District RCMP is investigating following an off-road vehicle crash in Memramcook that left one man dead and another injured.
The Cumberland County Integrated Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Cumberland District RCMP and Amherst Police Department, arrested two people during a traffic stop on Laplanche Street in Amherst.

AMHERST, N.S. – On March 2, 2018, the Cumberland County Integrated Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Cumberland District RCMP and Amherst Police Department, arrested two people during a traffic stop on Laplanche St. in Amherst. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine tablets, cocaine packaged for resale, cash and other items indicative of drug trafficking.

RCMP did not identify the 28-year-old woman from Aulac, N.B, who was released from custody. She is scheduled to appear in Amherst Provincial Court on April 23, 2018, for the following charges:

– Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking

– Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking

Thirty-three-year-old Steven Matthew Wilson of Springhill was remanded into custody after being charged with the following offences:

– Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking

– Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking

– Breach of Probation

Wilson will attend Amherst Provincial Court on Monday March 5, 2018, and Moncton Provincial Court on June 19, 2018, to answer to his charges.
