NEW BRUNSWICK – Environment Canada is warning area residents that a cold Arctic airmass will slide over the province tonight causing temperatures to fall below minus 20 degrees Celsius across much of New Brunswick.

Cold temperatures combined with strong, gusty westerly winds will give wind chill values from minus 27 in the south to minus 34 in northwestern portions of the province. These cold conditions are forecast to persist for a few days with cold windchill values pushing further south overnight Wednesday.

New Brunswickers are encourages to continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
