FREDERICTON, N.B. – NB Power is advising customers to be on alert for fraudulent phone calls from individuals posing as NB Power employees. These individuals are requesting access to the homes of customer under the guise of conducting an inspection of their water heater. NB Power will only come to the homes of customers to service water heaters at the request of the customer.
Customers who receive calls from individuals making these claims are strongly encouraged to report the incident immediately to their local police force, the RCMP or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 or http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/.
