Port Hastings traffic stop nets pills, weapons

PORT HASTINGS — A Port Hawkesbury man is facing numerous charges following an RCMP traffic stop on Highway 104 in Port Hastings.

According to an RCMP release, the Wednesday stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of dexamphetamine, codeine, a set of brass knuckles and some unnamed drug paraphernalia.

Sean Dale Simon, 36, has been charged with possession of codeine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of dexamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon and three counts of failing to comply with condition of a recognizance.

Simon appeared in Port Hawkesbury provincial court Thursday and was released on conditions.

He is due back in court Sept. 25.
