SACKVILLE, N.B. – Sackville’s 18th annual Fall Fair is ready to roll but there a few changes to the schedule that the town wants residents to know about.
First, due to construction on Main Street, the annual parade and Main Street Mile on Saturday afternoon will have a new route. Still starting at the Drew Nursing Home, the parade will now follow Main Street to Bridge Street, will then turn left down Bridge Street to Lorne Street; and will then turn right onto Lorne Street before ending near the rail station.
The second big change will be the location of the fireworks. Last year, the fireworks took place over the wetlands behind Tantramar Regional High School. After discussing some logistical and safety issues, it was determined that the best place for the show would be to return to the Dufferin Street sports fields behind town hall. Dufferin Street will be closed to vehicular and foot traffic, so residents are encouraged to walk to the Marshview Middle School hill if possible to watch the show. The fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21 with a rain date of 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Another change includes an early arrival for Hinchey’s midway, which will now be open for business at 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, as well as from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday. They will not be open on Sunday.
Additionally, Eddie Chase and the Graffiti Four has been replaced by Patty O’ Boy and the Beach Toys on Friday night in the tent with their set beginning at 9:30 p.m.
