A Cessna 180 on floats was departing from Branch Lake, near Bridgewater, when, upon takeoff, the aircraft collided with trees.
The plane settled in the trees with the left wing down, said Sophie Wistaff, media relations officer for the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
This happened on the south, southwest end of the lake, said Wistaff.
According to the RCMP, an emergency call to the scene was received around 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 16. The pilot and passenger were able to walk after the crash and were treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.
Lunenburg County District RCMP, Emergency Health Services (EHS) and the Italy Cross-Middlewood Fire Department were called to the scene near Italy Cross Road.
RCMP remain on scene and the investigation is ongoing.
