STE-ANNE-DU-RUISSEAU - The Eel Brook & District fire department responded to a vehicle fire in Ste-Anne-Du-Ruisseau near Roy's Auto Body Repair around 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The driver of the Ford Ranger escaped safely and there were no injuries.

When firefighters arrived, the truck was engulfed with flames from the front windshield back.

Fire chief Malcolm Madden says witnesses saw flames beneath the truck at the beginning of the blaze.

“It’s not a good feeling for anybody when you drive to the scene and see the smoke,” said Madden.

“You hope for the best.  In this case it was, no one was injured, just the vehicle and that’s replaceable.”
