AULAC, N.B. – The provincial government is investing $600,000 this year to install a welcoming gateway at each of the province’s six vehicle arrival points: Edmundston, Campbellton, Aulac, Cape Jourimain, St. Stephen and Woodstock.
“As identified in our Economic Growth Plan, tourism is a major component of the government’s economic vision,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister John Ames. “First impressions are important. We want to ensure that we make an impression on visitors from the moment they enter our province.”
The tourism sector employs more than 42,000 people and plays an important role in the economy. For every dollar invested in promoting the province as a tourism destination, there is an estimated return of $3.20.
