SACKVILLE, NB — Mount Allison University is in the market for a football coach after announcing Thursday that Scott Brady has resigned.
Brady has been at Mount Allison for the past 12 seasons, first as a student athlete with the Mounties and later as a member of the coaching staff.
“The past 12 years at Mount Allison University have been an incredible experience and one that I will cherish forever,” mentioned Coach Brady. “I want to thank all of our current and past players and coaches for their incredible effort and trust over the past decade. I am truly proud of what we accomplished together.”
He was named the head coach of the Mounties in November of 2015, succeeding Kelly Jeffrey, who left for a coaching position in the Canadian Football League.
Brady has accepted another coaching position in his home province of Ontario.
Brady, who was defensive co-ordinator under Jeffrey, and his Mounties defense helped the Mounties win back-to-back AUS championships in 2013 and 2014. As head coach, Brady guided the Mounties to their fourth straight Loney Bowl appearance in 2016. This season, the Mounties finished 4-4, narrowly missing the playoffs in the new 5 team AUS.
The outgoing coach said he wants to thank Jeffrey and Pierre Arsenault for their faith and belief in him and for granting him the incredible opportunity he had at Mount A to grow as a person and coach.

Arsenault, the university’s athletic and recreation director, said Coach Brady has been a great Mountie in every sense of the word.
“Whether it be as a player, as an assistant coach and most recently as our head coach, Scott has helped build our current culture of success. We wish Scott well and we have every confidence that our program that Scott helped build will continue in an upward direction,” Arsenault said.
A search for a new head coach will begin immediately. Mounties offensive coordinator Gaetan Richard will ensure the continued operations of the Mounties football program during the hiring process.
