Cape Breton was named best island in Canada for the second year in a row.
Travel + Leisure world’s best awards named Cape Breton best in Canada, eighth in the world and highest in continental North America.
It was voted by Travel + Leisure magazine readers. The awards appear in the August edition.
“This speaks to the appeal of the Island as a destination – the natural beauty, our vibrant cultures, and the amazing experience delivered by our tourism industry,” said Terry Smith, CEO of Destination Cape Breton in a news release.
“We’re already on the bucket list of many travellers and recognition like this from Travel + Leisure will create more awareness and interest in Cape Breton Island.”
