DORCHESTER, N.B. — More than 40 brave souls came to Palmer's Pond in Dorchester on Jan. 1 with a mission - to ring in the New Year in and a new decade in style.

With weather conditions perfect for a cool dip this year, with temperatues above zero and low wind conditions, this year's event attracted more participants than has only been seen once before in its 27 years.

The annual event is sponsored by the Dorchester Lions Club, and funds raise support a variety of local projects.
