SACKVILLE, N.B. — A Sackville-based company has been awarded one of the country’s highest business honours

Atlantic Industries Limited - a firm that provides engineered infrastructure solutions for different types of applications in the transportation, public works, mining, forestry and development sectors with its headquarters right here in Sackville – was recently designated as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.

Now in its 26th year, Canada’s Best Managed Companies is one of the country’s leading business award programs recognizing Canadian-owned-and-managed companies for their innovative, world-class business practices.

“It always amazes me how far we’ve come from our modest beginnings over 53 years ago, when my father founded the company,” said Mike Wilson, AIL’s president. “We are very proud of this accomplishment but could not have done it without our great people.”

Lorrie King, co-lead of Canada’s Best Managed program, said this year’s winners are a testament to the success found when businesses invest in talent, innovate intentionally, and think long-term.

“These companies should be proud of this achievement, and their responsibility in acting as role models for other Canadian businesses,” said King.

Every year, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies with revenues over $15 million compete for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates the calibre of their management abilities and practices.

“Certainly, our focus on the priority initiatives that support our strategic plan has helped us grow,” said third-generation leader and CFO Jenn Wilson. “But I credit our incredible teams across Canada for embracing our plans and executing them.”

“As a group, I think we adapt well to change and that has helped us raise the bar on what we can achieve together,” says Riley Wilson, vice-president of operations for Eastern Canada. “I look forward to what the future holds for us.”
