Sackville and Point de Bute firefighters were on the scene Sunday afternoon at Salem Elementary School, where they worked from the roof of the school to to put out a fire. The firefighters were called to the school at about 2 p.m. and brought in the ladder truck to get to the roof after determining the location of the fire.
The firefighters were on the scene for a couple of hours and were able to get the fire contained.
Anglophone East School District sent out a message earlier this evening, saying school will be closed on Monday, Nov. 5, in order to repair the roof. School is expected to resume on Tuesday.
